Maytag Atlantis Gas Dryer drying problem

My Maytag dryer starts normally and lights. After a while the flame cycles off (or if you open door or stop manualy) and will not come back on. Sometimes, the igniter tries to light but doesn't get gas. I thought it
might be the coils but sometimes the igniter won't come on either. If you spin the timer dial and reset
it seems to light. It only doens't light after running a while (coils?). Could the timer have an issue
or something else.

It will only light and heat once than it has to cool before it will light again, probably after a hour or so? It's usually the coils. If it lights and goes off than relights and goes off fairly quickly than you need to clean vent to outside. Easy way to check is disconnect vent at back and see if the dryer will heat normally
