Maytag oven not getting hot

Maytag M/N MGR4451ADW

The oven was working fine yesterday. Today I press bake, set it at 350, 10 minutes later it still says 100 and the oven is not hot.

any recommendations?

Thanks.

Hello: Sam. Welcome to the Gas Appliances topic.

First and often best solution attempt is to replace the Hot Surface Glow Igniter. (HSI) Very often resolves the condition. Not difficult to replace an HSI nor all that expensive of a part. Obtain one from any local appliance parts store in your area. Bring the make and model number to be sure to get the correct part.

Instructions for replacing the HSI are in the sticky note [url=http://forum.doityourself.com/showthread.php?t=159808]>HERE

Thanks for the info. What's an estimate charge that a repair person will charge to replace the HSI?

Hello: Sam

There is no way for me to know what the service charge or rate is in your area. There is no nation wide rate nor do I live in your state or area to know the service charge rate. Varies from area to area and service company to service company, etc. You'll have to call around to some of the appliance service companies list in the phone book directory in your area.

Nor is there a fixed parts price for any part. Only an recommend list price. But what you will get with having a service agency install the part or any needed parts is a warranty that you will not get retail buying and installing it yourself. The choice is yours. Good Luck.
