I have a very small and "cheap" Eagle Brand (Peerles) gas stove in my basement. I try to light the oven compartment and the pilot lights but the oven will not turn on. All of the top burners are working properly. My guess is that it needs a new thermocoupler. Any Ideas?

Post Fluid Safety

Hi:maxelrod

The oven element is called a fluid safety element. Not having enough information to diagnose the condition, that's most likely the defective part.

If all the controls are set correctly, the pilot is on and the thermostat is set and the oven fails to lite, replacing the element should correct the problem.
