Right rear burner sparks but doesn't light or takes a long time

magic chef 3127WTV Freestanding range/oven

This stove has one burner that either will not light or takes a long time to light. It sparks and I smell gas when attempting to use it. All the other burners work normally.

Also the clock display is not working. Is it a straight forward plug and play repair to replace the clock?

Thank you!!

I think retlaw hit it on the head. Since it can eventually light and you hear the spark it sounds like that works. Next try removing the burner head. They often just lift or twist off. Then look carefully at all the little holes around the circumference. They can get clogged with spills and food debris. Poking them out with a toothpick often solves the problem.
