Ge Adora Gas Dryer

I was hoping somebody may be able to help so I can try and fix it myself. I have an GE Adora gas dryer model DHDVH52GF0WW. The last couple loads of laundry seem to be taking extra long to dry. Sometimes the clothes feel cold and damp after running for quite awhile. Once I opened the dryer and it was cold inside and it smelled slightly of gas inside the drum too. The pilot does come on as I watched in the dark. I seen it come on but didn't seem to stay on long.. Any ideas??? Thanks

There actually isn't a pilot light on your unit. When you see the flame then the burner is producing heat. It is supposed to cycle on and off based on what heat you have the control set at.

With clothes dryers....air flow is of primary concern. If the airflow is restricted in any way the burner will short cycle.

How old is your dryer ?
The vent line should be cleaned every year and more often if the line is excessively long.
At a certain point....the dryer itself should be vacuumed out.

Do you hear the gas light or do you just see the glow?
