Shut off valve for gas BBQ

Is a recessed gas shutoff valve, like usually seen on gas fireplaces, okay for shut off to a natural gas BBQ? Remodeling a BBQ island with quarter turn shut off in back of the island. Would like to add one of those recessed kind that has a 'key' to the front of the island. Okay or bad idea?

That's called a Dante valve and would be an excellent choice for a shut off valve. Child proof too.

Thank you! I was concerned that that valve might throttle or restrict gas flow in some way.

No restriction. Just purchase the correct size for your system.
