roper built in gas oven model #1078126 or 1068126

The pilot light on my roper built in gas oven model number 1078126 or 1068126. Someone said it COULD be the thermostat and I read online that it could be the igniter. I'm inclined to think it's the igniter but I do not know how to remove it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the forums.

Why did you leave two models numbers ?

That series of Ropers uses an igniter and no pilot light. There is very limited service info online about the unit.

Normally you would remove the oven racks and lift up the bottom shelf/access cover. Sometimes they are just sitting there and sometimes there may be screws holding it in place. After you lift it up and remove it you'll see the oven burner and igniter. Try running oven with that bottom cover removed. You should see igniter glow. If not.....you'll need to unplug the unit from electric and then remove the igniter to test it with an ohmmeter. In the illustration below should be a similar unit.

In the link below is one online parts source for the igniter. Using the FSP # 4342528 you can search online further or check at your local appliance parts center.
