Oven door seal has come loose

There is a rubber seal or gasket that extends across the top of my oven door. When the oven heats up the seal expands and sags when the door is opened.

1) The seal looks like the part in this link, a straight piece of rubber with hooks on the end. Should I buy a new one?

2) Is there an adhesive I should use to hold the gasket down? What is the adhesive called or what type of adhesive should I look for? Should I apply adhesive across the seal, or just a bit in the middle to hold it up?

Normally... there is no adhesive used on that gasket. The hooks are all that hold it in place. Your old one may just have gotten hit and stretched.

In the event that you may find in the future that you need something.... a small amount of contact cement in the middle would work.
