I have a Maytag Gas Range (MGR8875xs). Last Saturday the oven was used and left on, which triggered the oven to go into a 12 hour shut-off.
The oven has not worked since. All top burners work and so does the broil function. There is no smell of gas entering the oven. This has happened before when the oven was left on and the range went into 12 hour shut-off mode but it eventually it turned back on. No such luck this time. We have unplugged the range to try and reset it and have adjusted the 12 hour shut-off function. I have read that it could be an ignitor issue but we believe it has something to do with the 12 hour shut-off function.
Any advice or suggestions is appreciated as we do not want to pay a service charge if it is a simple fix.
Thank you,
Sandy.

Welcome to the forums.
The only reference I could find about a 12 hour shutdown pertains to the self clean cycle.....
If a self-clean cycle has been run, or canceled after the oven has reached temperature, you will have to wait 12 hours to restart.
I thought that maybe your oven has a thermal fuse but none is listed in the parts list. I can only assume that the oven igniter has burned up. You'd need to lift up the metal drip pan in the bottom of the oven to access the burner area. You can visually check the igniter for black spots. The igniter is ceramic and is extremely fragile. If it appears ok visually it may require an ohmmeter to check it for continuity.
I left you the following link since it shows the igniter and how to get to it in detail. This is just one place that carries parts. You can also check with your local appliance parts retailer. Be sure to have the EXACT model and serial number with you.
