Question 27 year old Magic Chef lp gas oven pilot

I gave my brother my old gas range and it has a standing pilot light on both the oven and 2 standing pilots on the top burners. Is there any way to turn off the oven pilot light, he will never use the oven and it uses quite a bit of propane to keep the oven pilot light burning. It is a Magic Chef model 31FA-7-02. Any advice appreciated.

I moved your thread here to the gas appliance forum from the electric appliance forum.

I know there is a pilot level adjustment on the gas valve but I'm not sure if it turns the gas off completely. You may be able to remove the pilot light supply tube from the gas valve and install a threaded plug.

Have you checked with a local appliance parts retailer ? They may actually have the plug you need.

There are a couple of members that know these older ranges better..... hang tight.

From the pilot follow the tubing back and you should find a pilot valve, if not a plug is your answer, however I'm quite confident you will find a valve.

I thought there might be a screw somewhere around the pilot to turn the gas off from the oven pilot.
Thanks for your reply

Thanks for your reply. Do you know where I could get a copy of the owners manual? I lost the one I had and can't find one anywhere on the net. It is a Magic Chef Model 31FA-7-02.

I have not been able to locate an owners manual for your range.
