Question

My Caloric Prestige Series gas range was disconnected for several months. Since I hooked it back up, it beeps repeatedly and I get a "-FI-" displayed on the digital display. What does this mean, and how do I fix it, There is nothing about trouble codes in my owner's manual.

Hi: hoparch

Hello and welcome to the Do It Yourself Web Site and my Gas Appliances forum.

The more complex the appliances become, the more the trouble codes are trouble for everyone. Even the repair person...

Why the manufacturers do not include the meaning for the code is not really known.

Most likely that code could mean the memory computer chip in the main module has lost it's electrical charge.

How to correct that might mean unplugging it once again overnight and plugging it in again in the morning. Trying that may correct the condition.

If not, try calling the local repair service or Caloric directly. The main number should be listed in the phone book, on the owners manual or online.

Good Luck,

Cool

Hi,

Just for future reference....

http://www.applianceaid.com/fault_codes.html#f-codes

Many different codes collected and displayed at the above link

Also, Caloric is now owned by Amana...
