GE Gas Dryer Issues
Hello there, my name is Stephen and I am in need of some guidance because of my GE gas dryer model #DHDVH66GH0WW Adora.
The dryer was working on Saturday of last week, then on Sunday when we were going to do one more load, the dryer would not turn on. The drum light does illuminate and turn off when the door switch is depressed. I ohm tested the Thermal fuse and it tested OPEN (bad). So today I replaced it, 95% sure it was the fix. Still no turn-on of the control head. I cleaned all the other gunk out of the dryer evac lines. When the POWER button is depressed nothing happens. No buzzing, no beeps, no lights (except the drum light), nothing. I have checked breakers, I have swapped wall outlets, I even plugged in my washer to the dryer outlet and the washer fired right up. I un-plugged both thermal fuse wires (BOTH white, they lead directly into the control unit) and taped them together trying to bypass the fuse. I still didn't get any power-up when the ON button was depressed which is leading me to believe its much greater than a simple 30 dollar switch. I have a feeling it's the control unit just from how it's acting. The circuitry does not look burned or smell burned in any way. This is a 2007 model so who knows. Do these models have more than one fuse? I have the front door off and the top lid off currently. I'm writing to you guys before I go and rip this entire thing apart
Information on this specific model is very scarce. I haven't been able to find much on google that I either haven't already tried or that I don't already know.
I am slightly savy with these due to being an auto mechanic, wiring schematics and common sense are my best friend in the business
Any point in the right direction will be much appreciated! This is the first time i've ever had an issue with this dryer.

Welcome to the forums.
You dryer could have one of several problems. I can load a PDF file of the manual here but this one is too big for the forum. If you'd like a copy.... send a PM to me and I'll email you a copy of it. Then we can discuss your progress here.

When you opened dryer to replace thermal fuse. Did you unplug door switch wires? easy to mix them up if I remember right. Is the belt on. Will not run with belt off or threaded wrong. Make sure there is 240 volts to back of dryer. Thermal fuse open be sure to clean vent to outside or will happen again. Don't have wiring diagram so going off memory and it's bad. Let us know what you find out.
