GE profile stove: no spark on one burner

We have a 15 yr old GE profile natural gas stove. It has been doing well until last week.

One of the burners doesn't click(no spark) but I can smell gas when I turn ON the knob. I thoroughly cleaned all 4 burners and all 4 tips of the igniters and let it dry for couple hours but one of the three burners still doesn't click(ignite).

I'll post the model number later tonight but it's similar to the image below.

Where do I need to start to diagnoise the probelm ? Also, what tools do I need to remove the burner ?

How long do gas stoves last ? Am thinking atleast 30-40 years but wondering if I need to start saving for a new gas stove.

One of the igniters may need to be replaced.

Hi Pulpo, thanks - any good website to purchase the igniters ?

Also, is there a model specific or can I buy generic ones ?

I only ran across that problem once since I don't do many appliance repairs. I believe that they are specific, to the brand. I don't have a web site but you could get contact info, from the GE site. They maybe able to ship whatever you need.

For the most part igniters are brand specific..... not so much model specific but a model number is still needed.

You can swap a wire on the igniter, or sometimes at the spark module, to make sure the igniter is defective. One common spark module runs all the burners.
