Is it ok to install a gas dryer in an unheated but protected back porch and use during the NE winter? I am wondering if the cold will cause any problems. Former owner of home put theirs where I plan to. Venting to outside, of course.

Hello gloamin and Welcome to the Do It Yourself Web Site and my Gas Appliance forum.

Based on the conditions you discribed, there isn't any reason why the dryer cannot be located on the porch.

Actually, the location of the dryer isn't all that uncommon. Many dryers are located in cold and unheated basements and garages.

The only concern would be rain or water getting on the dryer. In a covered porch, this shouldn't be a problem.
