This is a 5 sealed burner stovetop. This unit doe's not have the normal ignitor switch that slides over the burner control shaft. It has a leaf switch that is engaged when the knob is turned. A round plastic piece similar to a cam pushes on the leaf switch when turned. All other burners click until the burner is lit thens stops automatically.
Doe's this unit detect the flame similar to a flame detector on a gas furnace??? Any help on this would trully be appreciated. This is a fairly new model unit.

Cool

Hi,

No make or model posted...but most newer sealed burner cook tops do have a flame sensitive feed back system...in other works...the electrode gets a small DC signal from the flame and this DC signal is sent back to the modual to tell it the flame is on and working. I'd try cleaning the electrode and holes on the burner first before doing anything else.

jeff.
