Question

Several months ago my oven ignitor would not work. I replaced the ignitor and it worked fine for until now.
Yesterday when I turned the stove on it worked, but when I turned it of, the ignitor continued to click.
I did notice that it would slow down if I turned the oven on.
Help please.

Hello and Welcome Buerer to the Do It Yourself Web Site and my Gas Appliance forum.

There may be two possibilities causing the problem.
The most likely is the thermostat. It contains the contact points that open and close to turn on and off the sparking.

The other possibility is the spark module.

Both these parts can be tested at the local appliance parts retail store near you.

If you want to remove them, be sure to unplug the appliance first. Then remove the parts carefully. Might be a good idea to make a hand drawn diagraph of the connections to each prior to removal.
