Question Heat coming out bottom of oven

We just bought a new house, and my wife had 2 questions I wanted to ask.

The first: we have a double oven (please see attached photo).

There is a lot of heat that comes out of the bottom when it is in use.

Is this normal/correct?

Thanks in advance!

Hello and welcome to the forum! I moved your posts to the correct forums, however, I don't know if your oven is gas or electric, so I put it in gas appliances for now.

I assume you mean heat coming out of the bottom oven when only the top oven is being used ?

Hi Pete,

Yes, that is my wife's concern. She uses the top oven and feels heat coming out where the red arrow is pointing.

Thanks,

Philip

We still don't know if it's gas or electric.

It's normal to have some heat coming out of the bottom oven when the top one is in use.

Hi Pete,

Sorry, I think it's gas. That makes sense, heat has to go somewhere. Thank you!

Hey, you can use the bottom as a warming oven when the top is in use. Just need to stick a thermometer in and find out how warm it gets.
