Kenmore HE3 Elite gas dryer - Won't Dry - Timer Problem

Hi everyone,

I've been working on my dryer for the last couple of weeks because it won't dry. I cleaned the duct vent. I checked the thermal fuse and it was bad so I replaced it. Still wouldn't dry. I thought the Thermistor was bad so I replaced it. Found out later it wasn't bad. After reading something online I replaced the coils and ignitor.

I tried a timed dry cycle and it didn't dry so I replaced the Machine Control Electronics. Still didn't dry.

I ran the dryer and noticed the timer display counting down from 40 minutes to 36 minutes in four minutes. But then it jumped to 16 minutes.

Has anybody had this problem or any suggestions?

Thanks

Please post model #. Does the dryer heat? do you have a meter to check things?

Part # W10177458B

This is on the tech sheet. If I have to look on the dryer I will when I get home.

I have a meter and it heats a little.

The ignitor glows and the flame comes on for a short time. This will happen several times.

I know you said you cleaned vent but this sounds like a vent problem. Take vent off the back of dryer and start dryer. feel air flow. Reconnect vent start dryer and go outside and feel air flow, should be about the same, Make sure you are not crushing vent when you push dryer in.

Checked the vent and it is okay.

Removed the Console Electronics and Housing Assembly Part # W10172224. Found the part on Sears Direct and it states that this board manages the functions of the dryer such as drying time and temperature.

When I checked online Sears Direct was the only place that had it.

Any other suggestions, let me know.
