Kenmore Elite DW Locked
Man, this i my week for kitchen appliances. 2012 vintage DW has a lock light on. All I did to cause this was to replace the upper rack rollers this afternoon. When I closed the door, the lock light was on. Neither pressing "Heated Dry" for 5 sec nor killing the circuit breaker will turn it off. I saw on another forum to drive a small nail thru the lock button to disable it. Do I dare?

Try depressing and holding each button individually for four seconds. I found some forum posts where the button hold worked but with different buttons.

I tried that and the "Top Rack Only" button cleared the lock for this moment anyway. I don't have any faith that it will last. I have had really bad luck with dishwashers for the past 15 yrs. This is my 4th one.

There will be a tech sheet (mini manual) in a plastic bag behind the front kick plate.
It will have a lot of helpful information on it. Be sure to replace it back where it was.

I hadn't thought of that, although I have installed 50 dishwashers. I noticed before clearing the lock LED, it blinked twice before going on solid each time I tried to clear it.. The tech packet might address that. If I have more problems, I'll pull the kick plate and check.
