GE JGP933SEJ1SS gas cook top ignitor issue

My cooktop had the problem with the constant firing of the burners. I replace the switch harness. Now, multiple burners will fire when one is turned on and certain burners will not fire regardless of their switch being on. I have checked and re-checked the harness and installation, itís installed correctly.
Do I need to change the ignition module or time for a new cooktop?

Welcome to the forums.

Please double check the model number.
If it's a re-ignition spark module..... then it's probably bad.
I'll know when I look it up.

Thank you...... title corrected.

That use a basic spark module. All burner switches are tied in parallel. That means turning on any gas valve will cause a spark at all burners. This is the most common method used. If you get any sparking when the gas valves are off..... it's caused by one of the switches. Those switches switch 120v directly to the module.

Same spark module in this thread.... ge-gas-stove-top-ignition-problem.
