Does the gas regulator provide gas shutoff?

Hello all,

I have the maxitrol gas regulator model 1307 88/801097-B.

Question> Dos the gas regular have a switch to turn off gas to the stove or I have to turn off the whole house gas valve in order to service the stove if needed?

Thank you

That regulator does not have a shut off on it. Most regulators don't.

Many ranges have the regulator inside the appliance and there could be a shut off next to it.

In any event..... you should have a valve behind the range on the supply line.
That valve is used for service as well as replacing the range.

No, most/all interior use regulators do NOT have a shutoff valve. They are regulators only. The lack of a knob or lever of any type on yours confirms that it does NOT have a shutoff valve.

In my area it is required to have a 1/4 turn gas shutoff valve at each appliance. It must be installed on the rigid line. It cannot be installed on the appliance end of the flex line.
