I have a KitchenAid gas cooktop (around 2005) Model #KGCS105GSS06, with an inoperable igniter on one burner - the one I use the most of course. It clicks but doesn't light. I can light it with a lighter, but that is getting old. I tried cleaning the igniter, and noticed the little ceramic cover is cracked. Doing a part search, it shows the part surrounding the igniter, and it's pretty pricey. Can I replace just the little igniter? I'm having difficulty finding just the igniter itself.
Thanks for your assistance.
The igniter is replaceable but there is no part number shown for it by itself. I have different styles here but it can be difficult to pick the exact one without being there. A typical replacement igniter electrode runs around $20. I'm seeing some rock bottom prices on burners with the igniter. That's the way I would go. Just take the igniter off.
OEM part # WPW10155786. Use this part number to search. WPW10155786
Hi all,
Our GE gas slide-in range, JGS760DEL (1WW for white on white) has done a good job until the past few months, when temperature control has been erratic. In my diagnosis....

I have done testing with a freshly cleaned, empty oven (its temperature probe squeaky clean) with a "known good" oven thermometer set on the center rack.

I used Convection mode with "multi-rack recipe adjustment" turned OFF.

Several temperature values were collected over a period of 30 minutes and averaged (with a bit of rounding) to provide the Actual temperatures for 6 different setpoints:
Set 300; Actual 275 (-25)
Set 350; Actual 330 (-20)
Set 375; Actual 360 (-15)
Set 400; Actual 425 (+25)
Set 425; Actual 450 (+25)
Set 450; Actual 500 (+50)
The range's digital control panel has an Offset feature to correct a temperature gap, but obviously I can only use it to correct for either a negative or positive difference and not both.
I am not the least bit familiar with this oven's temperature control mechanism. I just know it used to work better than it's working now.
Do you have any any advice on what part to troubleshoot/repair/replace? My wife is ready to call out the real appliance guy (and that ain't me!)
Many thanks.
Hi
When I push the start button on my dryer, it makes noise like it is starting but when I release the start button it turns off. I replaced the
Thermal Fuse WP3390719
but that did not work so I think it may be the timer. How do you use a jumper wire to see if teh timer is bad?
Regards,
Mark
