Gas Dryer Question

Hello,
I have an older Kenmore gas dryer (1989) It has a thermostat on it that I ohmed out and on two of the terminals coming out from the top it gives me full continuity on Rx1,the other two terminals that come out on the side in a little black terminal type fixture I have to put my meter on Rx1000 to get full continuity.I removed all four wires to it when checking it.Everthing else has checked out ok,except for one of the coils and I will be replacing that soon. One of the coils had three terminals on it and one pair of terminals did not give me continuity,so that's why I'm changing it out, actually I am going to change out both coils, boosting coil, holding coil and the secondary coil, because there is two in one of the coils.Model number is 110.87873800 serial number is M90313046.The thermostat has these following numbers.
201338
tod
part number
341146
660039
fsp
L65.5-11.1c
L150-20F

Hey Jeff1,
I appreciate the help,I didn't think that a dryer that old would have a bias style heater on it,I knew I was picking up some resistance somewhere, when I had to kick up the meter to Rx1000.But I wasn't sure as to why,it makes you think, like what's going on here.I guess it's good for the mind, like a little scare is good for the heart, keeps it going.By the way, do you know when they started making the new bias style heater thermostats. And approximately when it was that they started installing them on appliances.Again, I thank you.

Howdy,

I do not know when they started...but commercial style dryers have used these thermostats for many-many moons

Even when I first started ( 22 years ago ) I remember seeing these types of thermostats...they where expensive to buy and only seen them once in a while.

Newer technoligy has made these thermostats cheaper and closer to the same style as common everyday run of the mill type thermostats
