Angry not cooling

I went on vacation for 2 weeks and when I came back it was hot in my house. I turned the heat pump back on and it worked for a day or so and now it's 80* again.
The heat pump is running and it's cold in the area where the filter sits. Did something freeze up?

Yes.... if you can, remove the filter and (with the system off) look at the evaporator coil, you might find it to be iced over.

Sounds like you might have froze up. Running the system in heat mode will thaw out the coil and let it work for a while. Then after a while it freezes up again, it won't cool, (no air flow though the coil, just around the block of ice) common cause is insuffecient airflow (dirty air filter, replace) or (slow fan speed, replace bad motor) or (low refrigerant, find leak and recharge). Hope it just the first.
