Temporary Removal of Radiators

We are remodelling the floors in our old house and need to remove the electric boiler radiators temporarily, so that we can build a new subfloor and subsequently put down new flooring. The radiators have both an inlet and an outlet. We need to know how we can remove them for a period of 1 to 2 weeks and still have running water for the rest of the house. We would also need to know how to properly reinstall them, if it is different from the process of removing them.

Thanks!

You said water some I'm assuming you have a hot water heating system and not steam?? You need to pull the covers off the baseboard units and see if there are any shutoff valves. If not, you'll have to shut off the boiler, the pump or pumps and also the makeup water line. Drain down the system, remove the baseboard units and install a bypass pipe in their place. Refill with water, start the pumps, air bleed at the remaining baseboards. Start the boiler and continue air bleeding until you have re-established flow thru all baseboards. Repeat this process when you re-install the baseboard units you bypassed.
