Question Frost on A/C pipe.

This morning I notice about a half inch of frost on the bigger pipe going into the furnace. About 4 inches of the pipe isn't insulated before it goes in and that is what if frosted up. Do I have a problem?
Thanks.

Hi Mary:

That's definitely a problem. First thing to do is shut off the cooling and turn on the indoor fan to defrost the cooling coil. Then, make sure you have a clean filter. If you look thru some of the posts from the past couple weeks or so, you'll find a lot of information about why this is happening and some idea of what to do.
