anyone have an opinion on rudd package heat pumps please give...

i am about to have to make a decision on new unit or fix old trane (12 year old, 7 seer model) and from what i have learned so far, it is too small...2 ton unit for a 1500 sq ft house...

if you know something about other brands, please let me know...

Rheem, Ruud and Weatherking are all the same unit. They're fine as is Trane. The most important thing to do first is a heating/cooling load survey and an evaluation of the existing ductwork. If you go with a larger unit, you'll probably have to have the ducting redone. If not you'll risk disasterous results on the heating cycle.
