ac unit- ac won't turn off unless unplugged

Well, that's basically it...I've had the ac running for a few hours, and when I press the "Fan only" button, the ac still runs. When I hit the "OFF" button, the fan turns off, and the ac still hums, so I have to unplug the whole thing...

Its Whirlpool wall unit. Any ideas why this would happen?

It`s your selector switch. I`ve had to replace dozens of them. Write down the model# and serial# number & how many buttons it has. Your local supply house can either get an exact replacement or a universal switch that will work.

i think my problem is minor but unsure what to do.The unit it self is not running although it sound like it wants to run.It is making a humming sound but not working. I have yet another question. I was looking under my house and I noticed that there is condensation dripping from my main duct. My ducts are insulated and I have been told two different things and I need help to find out what to believe. One person an AC repairman told me that since its humid the insulation sweats and thats what causes it and someone else told me that sounds like a moisture problem like a possible hole in the works. I dont know what to do. I do have a musty smell coming from my vents and I cant stand it anymore. Please anyone.....Read More
