Exclamation Base Board Hot water (Bleeding)

I have 3 zones and one zone is not getting barely any heat. It's base board.oil furnace that heats water into the baseboards. Problem is They fill w/ air and you need to bleed. I believe this is done at the furnace level. Hook a hose and drain??

Don't want to do it till someone can confirm my idea..

THANKS!

Doug

With zoning there will be gates (valve that prohibits water from going through a pipe) on all 3 zones and on the return lines (pipes) and supply lines. There will be taps (valve that drains water from the pipes) usually only on the return lines. To bleed the system;

1. Turn off power to unit.

2. Close all 3 gates on return line.

3. Close the 2 gates on supply line that you do not want to bleed air from. Leave the gate open that you want to bleed.

4. Open tap on return line that you want to bleed. The water will spit out indicating air in line. When the water comes out in a steady stream, wait a few moments to make sure all the air is out and close tap.

5. Open all the gates on return and supply lines and turn on power.
