Mildew smell coming from heat ducts

Model DAYH-F024N070C
S# NDGM050510
located at the north side of home.
Forced air furnace/cooling
Natural gas

We just had the furnace replaced about 3 years ago. A relative did the work and we did not have the duct system replaced. Now we have a mildew smell that comes up from the vents. It can be pretty strong at times. We noticed it the frist time we used the heater and I think also the first time we used the AC. So I am pretty sure it is coming from the ducts. Don't have alot of money and would like to know if this can be fixed as a do-it-yourself project?

Clean your cooling coil.

A dirty cooling coil is a breeding ground for mold and mildew. Clean it and the smell will probably go away. Then be fussy about your filters from now on to keep it clean.

Mildew in heat ducts

Thanks for your help. The problem seems to be solved. We do not seem to smell the mildew any longer. This is a very good program to have for people. Thanks again! Billie Faye
