Cracked boiler

Just wondering: is it possible to repair a cracked cast iron boiler, rather than replace it?

Thanks for the prompt reply. I'll check out the location of the cracks asap (the boiler is my mother-in-law's, and she can't really afford a new one right now). If the cracks can't be reached by a welder, might something like JB-Weld work well enough to get her through the winter?
