Question electric air cleaner

without buying expensive cleaners, what is the best home made solution for cleaning the cells on an electric air cleaner. Thanks in advance for any responses!!

Get a large wash tub, Fill it with hot water and put the cells in it.. Let is soak for awhile, and take a soft cloth and carfully clean the plates..

i would use

hot water as jay11j says, probably add some degreaser. rinse well.

thanks for your responses guys, I will definetely try that. I have heard of some people that wash the cells by putting them in there dishwasher, what do you think of that good or bad??

It can go either way.. It all depends on what kind of dishwasher you have.. Very few dishwasher will have the room (with out the tower in the middle... how the tines are set up) Also, if you tink you got it in there, and it falls over and breaks that fine wire in between the cells, then your going to be out of luck then.. and I'd hate to see that happen.. So, just play it safe, and soak it in a deep wash tub.. With this type of system, your going to need to do this every month to keep it at it's peek! I know a fwe people who just gave up on it!! and changed it out to a Media air filter system where some model the filters don't need to be changed out once a year...
