wasted heat?
I have one register (heat) under a couch, is this register actually heating the room or just the couch? Can and should I block this register with something? It is a floor register and the couch sits directly on top of it.

If it is the type of couch that sits up like 4" and has a skirt around it, you are OK. If it is the kind that you can't fit your fingers under, you are in trouble. The air will get out from under the skirt type and your logic of heating the couch is correct, sort-of. The air heats the couch and then the couch heats the room. You can't waste heat once it's in the room. You can mis-appropriate it but it all gets used eventually.
I couldn't make the link work either.

Codes
The ability to post codes in this forum are not turned on.
Normally if you post a link in this forum it does not show up as clickable.
It must look clickable in our forum because it's in the signature.
I'm sure it would work if Nosoup4you posted in a forum where codes are turned on.
