Question lux thermostat

I replaced my "manual" non digital thermostat lately with a digital model by LUX (DMH100). Website:
During installation I connected the four wires, which were RED, WHITE, GREEN, and YELLOW to the digital thermostats plugs labeled G, W, Y, RH. There was also an RC but i saw a wire from RH going to RC.

Then, i resumed the power on my Heater/AC System. I switched the thermostat to HEAT, and set the temperature to 74. Currently it was about 70 in the house. The heat turns on for a little while then shuts off, never reaching my desired set temperature? How come so? How can I fix this?

If you need any more information, I would be glad to fetch it for you. Thanks!

More Info.

What Brand of heating, fuel type, and is it forced air or hot water heat?

The jumper for RH and RC are to stay for gas heat.. But again, we need more info on your heating system to go any futher.

Lightbulb Agreed

Lux is Junk, pure and simple.
I had one installed for 3 days and took it back
It never seemed to "connect" consistently.
Replace the stat with a Honeywell, White Ridgers, Totaline, Carrier ETC.
Honeywell is the only quality stat I know of that you don't have to got to a HVAC supply to get.
Also check builders surplus stores, I bought my Honeywell CT3300 for $3.00 in perfect working order.
Check EBAY also.

Step by step procedure for solving this probem:

1. Count the trash cans in your home.

2. Choose one.

3. Insert the Lux thermostat into the selected trash can.

4, Drive to home center.

5. Purchase Honeywell or White-Rodgers thermostat.

6. Drive back home.

7 Install new thermostat.

8, Move on to other things. Example- your taxes. [My 1040 came in the mail today. Lucky me.]
