heat pump
I have a heat pump problem. When my heat comes on it blows cold air ,then my aux.heat comes on and blows warm air. This continues the entire time my unit is on . Is this how a heat pump works and if so ,what should I set my temp. setting at?

My outdoor unit is running.But when it comes on the unit blows out cold air the entire time it is in heat mode ,then the aux. heat comes on and blows warm air. The thermostat reads that the unit is maintaining the set temp, which I had set at 78 .But My Elecricity Bill went from $86.00 a month to $325.00 a month. And I'm being told that my unit may be the problem.

I've had a tech. come out and this is the third heat pump i've gotten in 6 months. Could it be the indoor unit? Where the heat strips are located? Also the technician who installed my unit in the beginning put the indoor portion (where the heat strips are) under my home, under the floor,and I live in a mobile home. I thought that was odd.

confusing
package unit, yet strips are under the house, and 3 heat pumps in 6 months? something is bad wrong. the heat pump portion is not working, does it work in cooling?
