Close a secondary return in room over garage?

Hey,
I have a single story home with a room aver a 2 car garage that has a secondary return to the heat pump. We only use this area to store things and hate to spend money heating unused space. The main return is in the hallway in the center of the house. Would it make sense to block this secondary return (and any vents in the room) to help warm the house better or will it strain the unit? This room is extremely difficult to keep warm, so it is often like returning cold, outside air into the system. Thanks

You won't hurt anything by blocking them off. It doesn't sound like they put much effort into heating that room anyway. It was probably an afterthought and they just made an effort to satisfy someones request to heat the bonus room.
