Here is my problem: Everytime my gas heater turns on the ignitor (burner?) kicks on and then burns out. Three to five seconds later it turns back on and burns out. Three to five seconds later it turns on and then stays on, at which time the blower turns on. In addition, when the ignitor kicks on the first two times and turns off the blower turns on a blows cold air. Could this be a thermostat problem or something else.

a little vague there sbb...

your ignitor, is it spark or hot surface? do all of the burners fire every time and go out? may be a flame sense problem, give up a little more info....age/brand/efficiency and model # if possible.

The ignitor is a spark. All four burners do fire up each and every time the ignitor sparks. I hope this helps.
