Unhappy window air conditioning unit

Window air conditioner is leaking water. How do i stop it from doing this, hopefully without having to remove it from the window?

Welcome to the reality of window airconditioning.

If this unit worked ok in its present location then it will have to be removed to be cleaned.
Once removed, the cover has to come off to get at the insides.
Once inside then the rest of the interior panels have to be loosened and moved out of the way to get at the back of the condenser and the drain pan under the inside cooling coil.
If you carefully brush and wipe it out in there you won't have as much of a mess when you hit it with water.
Wash it out but avoid getting water in the motor or electrical components.
When it is clean dry it up and put it back together.
If any water got into anything you must blow it out and then do not plug it in for at least 24 hrs to make sure it's dry.

Good luck.
