central air

My air conditioning unit is running and cooling. It is having a hard time getting to the temperature that I set. Like if I set it on 71 it takes forever to get to that and sometimes it will make it to 72 and stay there until I turn it off. If I adjust the tempurature up the unit will go off without any problem. The air coming from the vents is cold but maybe not cold enough to bring the temperature down fast enough. Thanks for any help.

Do you just go in and turn the AC on or do you let it run all the time? Boy if you get it down to 72 and it did its job and got the humidity out of the home thats got to be one cold home. Tell more how you run your AC. Mine is set at 78o and stays there. ED
