Moving a heat pump
I have a one year old gas assist central heat and air heat pump that I want to move to a new location...both the outside heat poump unit and the inside heat exchanger.
I know I need a liscensed plumber to move the gas lines and reconnect but can I move the rest of the unit myself ? Also I will need to hold both units for about 3 months before reinstalling. Is there any preperation required to temporarily mothball the unit ?

No you cannot move it yourself sorte of. You need to get a liscensed "EPA" tech to pull the refrigerant charge into the outside unit and cap the lines so moisture don't get into the system. Then you can move it wherever you want and when you're ready to put it back on-line have the tech come back out, hook the line-sets back up, vacuum it down, and let the charge back into it and trim it if need be.
