Is return vent necessary in basement?
#1

I have a forced air gas furnace. I installed 3 vents in my newly finished basement. Do I need a return vent as well? All seems fine without it....

Hi:BrianG
You will not need a return if you leave this area open to the rest of the house. However, if there is a door between this area and the rest of the house, leave it open as you would other doors in the house.
Closing a door in any room without a return will trap the cold air in that room and build back pressure. Therefore reducing the flow of warm incoming air from the registers.

Tom
