We live in a 2400 sq.ft. ranch home. The furnace is located in the basement. We have one room in the house that doesn't get much heat or air. The furnace/AC units are both new-the best Carrier units that you can buy, and most efficient. Has anyone had any experience with adding a booster fan? This has been recommended, but no one seems to know if this will work? Any other ideas? We are tired of being cold and hot in the wrong seasons. This is the room that we spend all of our time in!

is this room on the end of the run? like the farthest away?.. if it is it sounds like the duct work wasnt sized properly.. a booster fan could help , it will pull and push more air into the area..

Hi aisy

Try closing <about half way or more> some of the other register vents in the warmer rooms.

You can close one vent totally, if there is a room with two vents that gets too warm.

The idea here is to reduce the volume of warm air in any room that is too warm, has more then one vent and/or is closest to the heater.

This will shift more warm air to the cooler rooms while reducing it in the warmer rooms. Try this first, before adding other possibly un-needed equipment like duct fans, etc.

Good Luck
