Unhappy

My central air unit is continually staying on no matter what the thermostat is set to. The furnace fan appears to be turning off and on correctly, so I don't think it's the thermostat wiring. I'm having to shut off power to the unit at the breaker box. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If no wiring or parts have been changed since it worked right last it must be a stck or welded contactor on the outdoor unit or a short in the low voltage wiring between the furnace and the outdoor unit.

Hi TK00,
Thank you for your quick reply. Can I safely assume that since I switched off the breaker on the side of the furnace (the one that looks like a light switch) and the A\C unit kept running, that the problem is a frozen connection on the unit?
Thanks
Corey

yes.... the low voltage from the furnace to your outside unit is what controls the contactor.. sounds like you need to have it checked out.
