My evaporator coil is freezing up. I changed the filter, with no improvement. I removed the cover to the evaporator and it's was a solid chunk of ice. I washed the coil a little with a water hose and a lot of rusty looking water ran out. There is a lot of rust on the end panels of the coil and in the pan. From reading the other items and your responses, it sounds like it's probably low on refrigerant. The system is 6 years old and never been checked. What do you think?

This note is to "R12 Guy". About 3 months ago I posted a question about how I might locate the people who call themselves "Hamilton Home Products". It was in reference to an electronic air filter for which I needed an adapter from 115AC to some unknown DC current. You, R12 Guy, were kind enough to give me the address and phone number for them......which I promptly lost!! It's a long story but it involved a computer crash. End result...lost the info. Do you still have the access to this info? I would greatly appreciate a replay. The filter is no good to me without the adapter and the allergy season is hitting hard in Ohio.
