What to do in Blower Closet?

I am about to have my heat pump replaced. It has an outside unit and an inside unit in a hall closet. The closet wall has drywall, but it was not taped or painted.

What, if anything, should I do inside that closet while the old unit is out of there?

My main concern is checking for possible air leaks - don't want that unit pulling in hot air from the attic.

It don't matter.. You can do what ever you want..

If it was mine, I would tape, and paint it up to make it look nice for the new system.

Also, will you have enough time in between to do everything?

Yes, time will be a factor. I don't think it is possible to tape and paint. I will only have a few hours to do what I want to do.
