Remote control question
While talking in work today a young lady coworker asked about a problem that she had been having with a forced hot air gas furnace.
During the last two years Her 11 year old furnace has developed a habit of the pilot light shutting off. I asked if it could be weather related and shes sure that its not getting blown out. I then suggested that it may be the thermocouple and she impressed me by saying that she had replaced that too. Then the real surprise came when she said that she changes the thermocouple every 2 - 3 months to keep the system running. Without having seen the system I cant guess at the size of the pilot and I don't know if its possible that its being over heated. any ideas before I go over and look?
Thanks
John

Make sure the pilot is clean. Lint gets up into the small venturi of it.Can try and blow it out with canned air, are take it out to clean it. Dont do anything to the pilots "orifice" there but blow on it ED
