Angry Heat pump

Recently after adjusting my heater down for the night, I heard this loud rubbing noise. So I grab my flashlight and headed outside to take a look a the heat pump. The noise apeared to be coming from the fan or motor unit on the heat pump. I haven't had any problems in the past with the heating or cooling with this unit. Could the motor in the heat pump be causing this problem,
or is there some other unit that can cause the oscillating noise?
