Furnance noise from fan

furnance fan is making noise what to look for?

Hi smd:

Which fan? Combustion air or the fan that circulates air thru the ducts? Things to look for are bad motor bearings, loose mountings and blower wheel out of balance. Thanks. John.

For what it is worth, I had the same problem with my brand new blower fan. Turns out that a corner of the housing was bumping part of the furnace frame where it was mounted. (Possible due to mis alignment) I placed a wood shim between the 2 and the noise is gone.
