Hot water heat stays on after stat turned off

I have a Crown Boiler system, Gas fed, with an indirect water tank.

The problem is after I turn off the thermostat, [heat only thermostat] the heat stays on, I disconected the stat , unhooked the wires, and it still stays on.

The systen has only one zone, or pump.

Any Ideas?

Thanks.

Are you saying that the gas to the boiler, keeps burning even with the thermostat wires disconnected, and that it will never shut off? Or, does the circulator pump just keep running?

When the termo is disconected, heat still comes from hot water base board.

I noticed problem when thermo was turned off, and heat still came up.

After disconecting thermo wires, I left them disconectd for at least 5 mins, and heat was just as strong..... [even felt pipes underneath, mad hot] .

During summer months, spring, etc, boiler is always "on" as it makes hot water for the "indirect hot water tank.

Tested the wires going to the stat, getting the 24 volts that I should.

I would imagine pump is running constantly, no matter what, as heat is ever present?

Thanks for any help.
