Unhappy Really stupid humidifier questoin

I have a Generalaire 1137 humidifier in my house. When I adjust the humidity setting, I hear a click....but I'm not sure the thing is running. I don't hear a fan or anything. Is there a way to tell if the humidifier is running. I unplugged it to change the filter, then plugged it back in. Now the house seems dry.

not failiar with that model, if it has a fan, remove the cover turn it on and see what happens. plug something else into that outlet to be sure you have power, the clicking is probably the contacts or water valve, which could be powered from the furnace not the humidifier

Exclamation humidifier

On that 1137 General when you hear the click did the water start over the pad. You also have to see if the fan in it turns on. Is the pad clean ? Are the fan blades clean and can you turn them by hand? ED
